Privacy Policy

When you create an account and use r8r, we collect:

• Account information — your username, email address, and optional profile bio and avatar.
• Ratings and reviews — the scores, category weightings, and written reviews you submit.
• Social data — who you follow and who follows you.
• Usage data — basic server logs including IP address and request timestamps, used solely for debugging and security.

We do not collect precise location, device identifiers, or any payment information.

Your data is used to:

• Provide and improve the r8r service.
• Display your ratings, profile, and activity to other users in accordance with the app's social features.
• Send optional Discord webhook notifications if you configure them.
• Respond to support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:

• Infrastructure providers — our hosting and database providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
• External APIs — media metadata (titles, posters, release dates) is fetched from OMDB, Google Books, and the iTunes API. Your personal data is not sent to these services.

Ratings, reviews, and your username are public by default and visible to other r8r users. Your email address is never publicly visible.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the app's Settings page or by contacting us.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

r8r is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use of r8r after changes constitutes acceptance.
